RECYCLING IS GOOD FOR EVERYONE!
BICA participated with Anthony's Key Resort, The Roatan Marine Park, Roatan Municipal and others in a program to recycle the 200,000 pounds of plastic bottles brought to the island every month. Paragraph 35 of the 2005 Bay Islands environmental law requires companies importing plastic products to the archipelago to provide recycling centers and a means of removing the plastics from the islands.

A recycling center with a compacting machine is scheduled to open around June 2009 in a location to be specified. It is a joint venture of BICA, the Roatan Marine Park, the municipality of Roatan, and Zolitur.
